一、为什么奖学金如此重要
赴美读硕士对于咱们中国学生来说，既是学术提升的机会，也是人生的转折。但同时高昂的留学成本也是一道现实门槛：大部分美国一年制硕士项目的学费通常在50-70万人民币左右。
在这样的背景下，奖学金不仅仅提供了经济支持，更是一种学术认可与竞争力的体现。
二、美国硕士奖学金的类型与结构
1. University Scholarship院校奖学金
这部分资金由学校或者学院直接提供，发放给成绩优异的申请者，例如纽约大学 Steinhardt 学院的 Global Citizen Scholarship 专门面向非美国公民的硕士生。这类奖学金通常竞争激烈，要求较高的 GPA、学术成就或领导力。
2. Government or Public Scholarship政府/公共机构奖学金
zu最典型的就是Fulbright foreign student program, 为来自世界各地的学生提供全额资助，但是这类奖学金名额有限，竞争相当激烈，申请难度非常大。
3. Specific Scholarship专业领域专项奖学金
力如专门面向运动员的，专门针对商业领域或者STEM等领域的专项奖金，一般由行业组织或特定机构支持
4. Private or Foundation Scholarship私人奖学金/基金会奖金
一般由基金会或者非营利组织提供，比如美国大学女教师协会AAUW设立的international fellowship专门为女性国际学生设立，每年金额高达2万美元以上。
5. Tutor or Teaching Assistant or Research Assistant助教，助研
虽然他们不是严格意义上的奖学金，但是对于硕士生而言，这类职位不仅可以跟着教授做一些教学或者研究的项目，同时还能附带学费减免，领生活津贴。
三、申请奖学金的途径
1. 入学申请同时或提前申请
奖学金申请的截止时间通常在正式申请入学比较早的轮次，建议大家在申请学校时留意Deadline for Scholarship奖学金截止时间，提前准备各项申请材料；
2. 突出你与奖学金的匹配值
根据你所想要申请的奖学金类别，在申请材料特别是文书中凸显这一特质，比如申请scholarship for business industry时就需要在文书和材料中凸显你在商业领域的贡献，你对于未来商业发展的认知以及你的职业规划
3. 多渠道申请
提前了解你所想要申请的学校有哪些奖学金机会，在满足条件的情况下可以多申请，同时还可以关注国家基金委，甚至各个学校的资助名额及条件，对于有TA/RA岗位需求的项目，可以主动联系学校索取申请信息；
四、奖学金offer不等于钱到手
收到带奖录取scholarship offer的那一刻，很多人就以为“钱已到账”，其实不然！
大多数学校的奖学金都附带自主条件，能够持续获得奖学金资格取决于你在校期间的表现，下面以纽约大学工程学院的研究生奖学金录取为例：
“Disbursement: The scholarship amount is equally split between Fall and Spring semesters, assuming you are enrolled in at least 9 credits each Fall and Spring semester. See below for the final semester prorated award policies. Summer and Winter terms are not eligible and will not be covered under this award.”
奖学金发放：奖学金将在秋季和春季学期各发放一半，前提条件是你在每个学期至少修读9个学分。 夏季学期和冬季学期不适用奖学金。
“Awarding and Renewal Criteria: Eligibility for this award is reviewed at the end of each Fall and Spring semester. As this award is a merit-based scholarship, in order to remain eligible, you must have a term GPA of 3.33 or higher after your first semester, and a cumulative GPA of 3.33 or higher after each subsequent semester. Additionally, you must earn a minimum of 80% of your attempted credits for the duration of your graduate program. Additional criteria listed below may also impact your continued eligibility.”
奖项授予与续期标准：每个秋季学期和春季学期结束将审核奖学金资格。本奖学金是择优奖学金，为了符合要求，你需要满足以下条件： 1. 第一学期结束后，学期GPA高于3.33； 2. 此后的每学期结束后累计GPA高于3.33；3. 你在研究生就读期间，至少需要完成80%的学分要求。
“Continued Progress: A review of your Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) will be completed after every semester in which you are enrolled (Fall and Spring only). Should you fail to meet the GPA requirements or should you fail to complete 80% of your total attempted credits, you will no longer receive this scholarship, and you will be ineligible for reinstatement of the scholarship in any subsequent semester.”
持续学业进展：每学期结束后（仅限秋季和春季学期），系统将自动审核您的学业进展，如果未能达到前文
提到的GPA要求，或者未能修满80%的学分，则你将失去奖学金资格，且后续学期无法恢复资格。
“Other terms of Eligibility: You must maintain full-time status at NYU Tandon School of Engineering. This requires that you register for 9 credits or more each semester. If you drop below 9 credits at any point in the semester, you will lose your scholarship for that semester AND all future semesters. Students are advised to plan their semester schedules accordingly.
For students who are in their final graduating semester, scholarship awards will be prorated for those registered in 1-8.5 credits.
This award may not be combined with any other institutional aid that may be offered to you. ”
其他资格条件：你必须保持纽约大学Tandon工程学院的全日制学生身份。这意味着你需要每学期注册至少9个学分，如果在学期中任何时间不足9学分，则将失去该学期及后续学期的奖学金资格，建议学生合理规划学期课程安排。对于在毕业最后一学期就读的学生，奖学金将按照注册学分1-8.5的比例进行发放。该奖学金不得与其他奖学金合并使用。
换句话说，拿到奖学金录取只是开始，拿到钱才是挑战！
