8月1日是美本大学招生的一个特殊日子，这天拥有超过1000名高校会员的大学申请平台——通用申请系统（Common App)Common App）正式开放，意味着2023-2024美本申请季正式开始！
美本申请千头万绪，其中专业选择，及未来能否有更多机会合法留美工作等因素，均是广大家长和学子们需要重点考虑和衡量的。
7月12日，美国再出新政，对部分专业的OPT 再次延长时间，这个消息值得大家关注。
01OPT出台新政！
OPT（Optional Practial Training）是持F1学生签证的留学生合法留在美国工作的重要手段。
一般来说OPT有效期只有一年，如果一年一次的H-1B抽签没有中签，就必须离开美国。但STEM专业学生可申请24个月的OPT延期，也就是一共拥有长达3年的OPT！有了3次抽签机会，拿H-1B的概率大大增加。
因此，一直以来STEM专业，也广受追捧（科学（Science)、科技(Technology)、机械(Engineering)和数学(Mathematics）
而就在最近。美国再次发布最新的专业学科，将12个月的OPT 延长至36个月。
